I believe in supporting fashion designers coming from all backgrounds and beliefs. This dress is delicately handmade by a Nigerian fashion designer living in Nigeria. I welcome diversity and sharing the importance of supporting every individual who is determined in following their passion and growing their business visibility. This dress is designed with the intention of supporting the idea that we are all connected as one on mother earth.
What it means for me to embrace my own body?
Our body is just like the blooming of a flower. The more we tend to it like a garden with care and love, the healthier it shines. Within us, we are all gods & goddesses to ourselves, our child and the man in our lives.
Presenting our national pride Singaporean fashion designer Joanna Lim incorporating the vision of Singapore on our national gown as a statement that unifies Singapore. We have hand-dyed Singapore's national costume in our iconic red and white on veg-based silk, known as gajji silk. There are snippets of Singapore's culture and heritage in this dress - iconic Chinese mandarin collar, India's Rangoli art is inspired by the Peranakan tiles and Black and White architecture. We complete the look with our take of Singapore's skyline through beading embellishment.
